I think Daniel's point was, in part, that the normal stuff is in reality magic. I buy into that in a big way. Those programmes with that bloke living with those tribes is great for understanding that difference of perspective.

I doubt anyone has a problem with that, misself.

But if I think in terms of HQ augments, I want those real world (Loves Son / Methodical) type augments in addition to the magical stuff. There's just more going on. The challenges may be greater because of magic or that calendar, fine.

For the initial point of departure for this discussion, again, there'd need to be a magical reason for contraception to be difficult. Fine.
