BTW, one of the themes of the Hero Wars is the deterioration of
traditions of restraint and limitation. Traditional Heortling warfare
- where the destiny of tribes might be resolved through a fight
between a handful of champions - is replaced with vicious and brutal
guerilla warfare against the foreigners and then later with
magical-military warfare on a scale not seen in many hundreds of years.
Things change in Glorantha during the Hero Wars - and not necessarily
for the better.
