Being privy to the mysteries of the secret passages, I can tell you

BTW, 9a is definitely correct. Despite a brief rescue by a duck who
could fly (well, glide) by means of an artificial device, the
Charismatic Leader dies horribly. And his snappy outfit is completely
ruined.
