You could the same for HQ if you printed out cards to keep track of your affinities or feats or charms or spells or whatever; WotC is just connecting with the "collecting shite" demographic by making the ENTIRELY OPTIONAL play aids shiny.

You can just print these all off the net if you have their Character Builder. Which is what I do. WHEN I PLAY D&D4. *stands resolute in the face of the anticipated baying mob*
