Rick :

> We have always known that any action we take will generate a negative reaction from a portion of the Gloranthan community. Such is life. Not publishing book X disappoints some people. Publishing book X disappoints some people. Not answering a question disappoints some people. The answer we provide to a question disappoints some people. Having a forum disappoints some people. Not having a forum disappoints some people. Inevitably, we just focus on doing, and not so much on whether it disappoints the minority. If we felt doing something would disappoint a large majority, of course we would try to avoid that.

Rick -- to be perfectly honest :

As an ex-editor and ex-publisher of Gloranthan gaming materials, that we *always* tried to make as immediately usable and entertaining and playable as we could, you personally, and Jeff, and even that redneck Chris, have nothing but my deepest respect for the great simultaneous formal seriousness and gaming fun with which you approach and produce all ongoing Gloranthan gaming projects.

You Rick, in particular (Jeff, I hope, already knows my respect for him ; and Chris can just grab himself a rare steak and mull contentedly and deservedly during his meal over a pint or two of beer) -- your great talent for content, game system, copy, and format editing is admirable.

Your work throughout the years has been deeply inspirational. It was certainly the high water mark that I aspired to for Les Erudits de l'Ambigu.

I know this place is an awful free-for-all, but please don't imagine that any unfounded nasty rumours posted in here are anything other than shit.
