a handy tip

One problem I've had is that I forget what I was planning between playing session (I typically only get to play a year or two at a time).

It finally occured to me that the saga is just a text file....so after I quit the game I openned the text file up in a word processor, and added a couple of notes (all in captitals so I can easily distinguish them from the rest of the saga) at the end. Things like: "GIFT THE SQUAT OAK ASAP--RELATIONS GETTING BAD." or "REVISE CROPS IN SEA IF HARVEST LOOKS OK" You know--the thribal chores that you need to do to keep things running smoothly, that are easy to forget after a day or three because they aren't so exciting.

Of course, to keep the saga looking nice, you can either go back and and remove your comments, or you could make them fit in better by making them look like saga appropriate comments instead of cap-locked intrusions ("Harstar suggests we gift the Squat Oak before their dislike of us turns to hatred." "Rana reminds you that it is fine to grow mostly rye during a bad year, but that to honor Ernalda and all the grain goddesses you should plant more barley and wheat next year.")
