Since our esteemed A-Sharpie said (in the "KoDP Events?" thread) that
there would probably be another patch... are you interested in random
suggestions?
I've just started playing the game, and it's great great GREAT, but
there are a couple of little nuisances. I don't know how hard they
are to fix, but if they're easy, I bet you could make a lot of people
happy by changing them... (Apologies if these have been beaten to
death on the list.)
- (Windows specific) It would be very nice if KoDP could reset the
monitor's resolution when it runs. I have a big monitor, and I
ordinarily run it at 1280x1024 or thereabouts-- if I start KoDP, it
runs as a tiny little box in the middle of a black screen. So I have
to remember to change my resolution to 800x600 before I play, which
moves around all the icons on my desktop...
- (Windows) Ordinarily, I use the "large fonts" setting for my
desktop (since I've got that big screen running at high resolution).
If I try to run KoDP when I've got large fonts, I get that warning
message, then some of the text gets truncated. This is a bigger
hassle than the last point, since I have to reboot to change the font
size. Is there any simple way to keep KoDP from being thrown off by
large fonts? (I'm guessing "no", or else you would have made the
change instead of putting in a warning message... but I just thought
I'd toss it out there.)
- (Windows) It'd be nice if there were a cleaner way to run KoDP from
a hard disk-- i.e. if I didn't have to rename the disk and install
files to the root directory. No idea how hard this would be to do.
- Sometimes, I get useful information which isn't stored in the saga.
It'd be nice if when a random "news" box pops up, I had an option to
save it to the saga, or else select it with the mouse and copy it to
the clipboard. (I understand that you wouldn't want to make the myths
copy-and-pastable-- printouts of the myths would make heroquesting
too easy.)
...and, of course, more events and heroquests (though I haven't
nearly finished the ones that are there!).
Thanks, guys! KoDP r00lz!!!1!
