Now that we're on the subject...does anyone know what the "steadfastness" stat is?

I'm talking about the later parts of the elmal quest where the teller of lies tries to lure you away. At this point I've failed maybe 60% of the time I do the quest.
Also most of the humakt quest.

I've always thought it was magic, but I still fail a bit too often compared to the quests where it's obvious what I need.

Are the quests just very, very hard or what?
