No, the Lunars have nothing to do with the Pharaoh. The Pharaoh is to the southwest, the Lunars are in the distant north-northwest, beyond Tarsh, on the far side of Dragon Pass, beyond the Rockwood Mountains.

If Orlanthis are like ancient Celts or land-bound Vikings, Lunars are like ancient Romans. They are an agressive expansionistic empire, but they are still very far away for the moment. They don't ever play a large part in KoDP.

The Lunars are unlike most of the other peoples in the game in that they treat Chaos as a powerful but dangerous tool, like fire. Orlanthi and most other peoples in the game treat Chaos as an untouchable evil which must always be shunned or fought. The Broos and other chaotics treat Chaos as a good thing in and of itself.
