Yah, ditto on herd's magic and leader with high animal skill....about the pasture: the bigger your herds the worse the estimate, and if you have the earth shakers it gets even more off.

If you're low on sheep, your warriors will steal sheep during cattle

raids and raids. IIRC, you will also trade for sheep in trading missions

if your stock of sheep is low. Absent bad events, it is easy enough to

get huge sheep herds by using lots of herd magic (and leaders with the

animal skill), being careful not to build too many temples too early,

and having large pastures. And of course - never slaughter your sheep.

The pasture recommended by the advisors is very wrong; don't trust it.

It's a known bug, I believe.
