His birth is in itself strange and was fatal to his mother (his father at the time being already dead and partially digested). Saragon inherited a lot of his mothers personality, or lack there off, as well as a few physical attributes such as shedding of his skin, reptilian features, and ability to expand his jaws and stomach so as to swallow his victims whole. As a feral broo, Saragon had managed to steal a head from a passing Thanatari group and attempted, successfully, to eat it. He was later caught by the offended Doom Seeker, who realized Saragon’s potential, as well as saving his life by extending Thanatar’s protection to Saragon from the Mad Ghost of the head, which he swallowed. Because of this incedent the ghost constantly follows Saragon, who has learned to control it somewhat (chance equal to Saragon’s Pow x 3% see gift). Saragon is currently in the process of becoming ‘civilized’ and no longer eats heads, with out asking first. He still has a long way to go. However, his skills and abilities make him a perfect tool to be used at some later point. WARNING!! This is a Dorastan horror and not the mundane, everyday wandering encounter. I think that the Temple should cater for both high and low characters, this being the High end. KATH THE DESTROYER Kath began life as a broo, a lowly broo in the service of a minor ash flat broo Lord. As a female, she was lucky to live and survive the normal fate of female broo by being raped in a Thed religious rite. Fortunately, her natural chaos features and tenacity ensured that she survived. She never managed to join Thed, but the shaman she served saw that her natural abilites made her a good assassin, and used her as such. However, the shaman came to blows with a small group of Thanatari who lived outside the Temple Of Heads but, like most Thanatari in the region, attended the temple on holy days. When she was sent to assassinate their leader, an acolyte, she was captured. In exchange for her life she betrayed her former master, and continued to join the Thanatari as an assassin for them. She was a truly excellent assassin, and with the help of sorcerors even assassinated various Bilini nobles under the guise of being a human. Of course, with such potential the Priests should have realized she would eventually displace them. With her powers of stealth she managed to break into the Inner Libraries of various priests - with the combined sum total of their knowledge she grew strong indeed, even participating in some particulary dangerous HeroQuests. She befriended an erstwhile Scorpion Queen shortly after being promoted to the position of Doom Priest of Than. In return for aid she managed to join the cult of Bagog and, even though it was a painful process, she became a Scorpion-Broo. Her eventual ascension to High Priest of Dark Truths occured when she managed to convince the previous High Priest to begin a war with the Poisonthorn Elves resulting in his death. She later made pacts and deals with the elves, and the war ended with her at the top of the pile. HeroQuests, her innate cunning, her fearsome nature and her paranoia has made her the longest lasting High Priest - running in at nearly two and a half centuries old (current date 1621 ST), she is one of the eldest people in Dorastor! She is now beyond her previous race, she is a demigod, a powerful HeroQuester who has transcended the normal limits of mortality. She talks to few, deals with no-one. She appears to be a huge, 10 foot tall, 15 foot long behemoth, carpaced with a dark black shell, resembling a demonic scropion man, her previous broo heritage has since been lost in her collection of metamorphosis and chaos features. On some days her shrill, cawing cry can be heard, and even the Priests shiver. Who would dare face a Godling, even for the position of High Priest? Her current plan is to become the Third Incarnation of Tien. She believes that her previous experience and knowledge will mean that she will not fall to the hubris of the former two incarnations. Perhaps she is right? Micro ant-brows are incapable of reproduction. This strange combination is a result of a sorcerer’s experiment with broo mating habits and a God Learner potion of spirit transportation. The experiment proved to be an initial failure for the sorcerer as his consciousness became trapped within an anthill’s group mind and his body became the host to the subject of his experiment, an ant-broo. The sorcerer quickly lost his sanity, since he was totally incapable of dealing with his situation. His mind, however did survive and after a period of time began to reinvent itself as a new being, but with almost no prior knowledge. The Commune sought to expand and grow, but quickly lost most of the larger members to hostile environment and predators. Luckily it was able to maintain its viability by finding new hosts and taking care of the newly born ant-brows. The big break for the Commune came then it was accidentally contacted by a discorporate broo Thanatari shaman who was looking to find the reason as to why all of his offspring in the area kept disappearing without a trace. Usually at least some should have survived to decorate their father’s belt with their heads. The shaman was totally intrigued by this new creature and deemed it interesting enough to study as opposed to just destroying it. He took it upon himself to educate the Commune and in a rash moment offered to initiate one of the Commune’s pieces. The result is a group mind who/which in its totality is an initiate of Thanatar.
