Do not include large sections of a message in your reply. Especially not to add "Yeah, I agree" or "No, I disagree." Or be excoriated. If someone writes something good and you want to say "good show" please do. But don't include the whole message you praise. 2. Use an appropriate Subject line. 3. Learn the art of paraphrasing: Don't just quote and comment on a point-by-point basis. 4. No anonymous posting, please. Don't say something unless you're ready to stand by it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 11 Jun 1998 20:01:32 +0100 From: "Hibbs, Philip" Subject: [RQ-RULES] Herd Men What's the INT of a herd man? philip.hibbs@tnt.co.uk or phibbs@compuserve.com http://members.tripod.com/~PhilHibbs/ You never know what is enough unless you know what is more than enough. - William Blake *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@mpgn.com with the line 'unsubscribe runequest-rules' as the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Jun 1998 16:07:41 EDT From: KESmith502@aol.com Subject: Re: [RQ-RULES] Herd Men In a message dated 98-06-11 15:16:39 EDT, you write: << What's the INT of a herd man? >> animal INT. The BoDRVPrax contains most of the basic Praxian info that ought to have been made available in the early eighties. It is an ESSENTIAL Gloranthan sourcebook, and anyone who wants to game in the fabulous Gloranthan GhettoLand of Prax NEEDS this book, more than he needs RoC. The ONLY sourcebook which is arguably as important as BoDRVPrax in this respect is Cults of Prax, and this is actually debatable, 'cos BoDRVPrax is just SO brilliant. Obviously the character generation system does not allow pygmies and other extreme cases. I believe that Greg sed that Glorantha(c) has far less immediate access to healing magic than is portrayed by RuneQuest(c) Battle/Spirit Magic. Wouldn't ritualization of healing magic be a step toward that direction? The likely delay to start rituals (until after melee has ended) and the length of time required, as well as the need for a successful ritual skill should reasonably put some limits onto magical healing. Am I forgetting some important myths or legends which require immediate access to healing magic? Why weren't the proprietors of Gimpy's healed?
