Do not include large sections of a message in your reply. Especially not to add "Yeah, I agree" or "No, I disagree." Or be excoriated. If someone writes something good and you want to say "good show" please do. But don't include the whole message you praise. 2. Use an appropriate Subject line. 3. Learn the art of paraphrasing: Don't just quote and comment on a point-by-point basis. 4. No anonymous posting, please. Don't say something unless you're ready to stand by it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue, 01 Dec 1998 00:02:00 -0500 From: Tal Meta Subject: Re: [RQ-RULES] [WZL] Hasbro Speaks Delecti@aol.com wrote: > > Titles such as Runequest offer the company a foothold beyond the > board-and-box product category. We might be able to revive RQ3.x and kill Slayers at the same time. - -- talmeta@bellatlantic.net - Heretic & Dilettante ICQ - 12594453 AIM - talmeta1 Homepage - *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@mpgn.com with the line 'unsubscribe runequest-rules' as the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 01 Dec 1998 10:46:23 PST From: "Leon Kirshtein" Subject: [RQ-RULES] Re: Dodge >From: "Hibbs, Philip" > >In terms of game balance, how does everyone feel about dodge? The meager base chance of 05% goes some way >towards equalling this out, but Elric! gives DEX x2, average 21. IMW, a successful dodge reduces the level of attacks success. Keeping this in mind, dodge is a risky skill to rely on. Even if you have an 100% in dodge you only have a 20% to completely avoid damage from a special hit and 5% from a critical. Starting a dodge at DEX x2 or higher maybe a really good idea. Cult in the World Qozamal is traditionally depicted as an avanging figure, one who comes from the horizon to wipe clean the stain of evil. Whether she does this by swirling sand in the desert or by driving rain along the shore, she is the force that will not be denied. In mythology, she is tied romantically to both Hakuum and Dorgha, and is mother to Geshtai and Tzelaziim, though neither relationship worked out in the long run. Qozamal bids her worshippers to hold the 1st of Reaping as their High Holy Day, to mark the beginning of the storm season. Lesser services are held on the 1st of each month. Mosques to Qozamal are uncommon, as her followers prefer to gather together in the face of a storm, building impromptu shrines as needed. Her priests wear dolmans of desert tan, while her priestesses wear dolmans of stormcloud grey. Headgear is optional. Lay Membership Requirements: Lay members of this cult are drawn from a variety of walks of life. All share, however, the desire to make right the things that are wrong in the world. Skills taught include Dodge, Ride, Interrogate, Speak Languages, First Aid, Read/Write, World Lore, Listen, Scan, Search, Track, Sneak, Ceremony and Khopesh attack. Initiate Membership Requirements: Standard. Initiates of this cult can be found in most regions, working with local law enforcement when they can, but more often working the fringes as vigilantes bringing to justice those who have used money or influence to evade it in other forms. Spirit Magic: Admonish, Befuddle, Fanaticism, Magic Push, Qozamal's Questioning (Improve Interrogation), Sandblade, and Torture. Acolyte Membership Requirements: as per Priests. Acolytes are sometimes employed by local potentates as interrogators, inquisitors, or, less often still, as torturers. Those who do not find such employment lead groups of initiates in raids against corrupt merchants, advisors, and officers. Priesthood Requirements: Standard. Qozamal's priests can almost always be found in any urban center, as that is where corruption always takes root, eventually. There they serve as gardeners, weeding out those roots where they can for the betterment of all. Virtues for her priests include: Angry, Curious, Honorable, and Stubborn. Common Divine Magic: all Special Divine Magic: Cloud Call, Dismiss (Gnome, Sylph), Dry Wind, Flight, Increase Wind, Lightning, Predict Weather, Thunderbolt, Wind Warp. Associated Gods Dorgha: provides Retribution Duskram: provides Clever Tongue - -- talmeta@bellatlantic.net - Heretic & Dilettante ICQ - 12594453 AIM - talmeta1 Homepage - *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@mpgn.com with the line 'unsubscribe runequest-rules' as the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 2 Dec 1998 09:24:30 -0500 From: "Bob Stancliff" Subject: Re: [RQ-RULES] Re: Dodge > >In terms of game balance, how does everyone feel about dodge? Look for Sevarash & Selvetarm in the near future (I've decided that a writeup for Angharradh is iffy, ay best. I might do one, but I'm not contemplating it at this time.) I won't be posting rewrites, but I'll let folks know when the revised writeups are complete and on my website. ------------------------------ End of RuneQuest Rules Digest V1 #206 ************************************* *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@mpgn.com with the line 'unsubscribe runequest-rules' as the body of the message.
