Do not include large sections of a message in your reply. Especially not to add "Yeah, I agree" or "No, I disagree." Or be excoriated. If someone writes something good and you want to say "good show" please do. But don't include the whole message you praise. 2. Use an appropriate Subject line. 3. Learn the art of paraphrasing: Don't just quote and comment on a point-by-point basis. 4. No anonymous posting, please. I hand it out like experience points whenever the group gets a chance to train, and they can use it to modify rolls in game (POW gain, DI, attack, etc.). - -- talmeta@cybercomm.net - Heretic, Dilettante, & God-Machine ICQ - 12594453 AIM - talmeta Homepage - *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.imagiconline.com with the line 'unsubscribe runequest-rules' as the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: 25 Nov 1999 12:06:37 +0100 From: Alain RAMEAU Subject: [RQ-RULES] help help *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.imagiconline.com with the line 'unsubscribe runequest-rules' as the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 Nov 1999 11:20:39 -0000 From: "Hibbs, Philip" Subject: RE: [RQ-RULES] help >>>help keyword "" not found Philip Hibbs http://www.snark.freeserve.co.uk/ Opinions expressed may not even be my own, let alone those of any organisations, nations, species, or schools of thought to which I may be affiliated. *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.imagiconline.com with the line 'unsubscribe runequest-rules' as the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 Nov 1999 13:42:43 +0100 From: "Ireland, John" Subject: [RQ-RULES] Re: Play by Email Well, it looks like I must have confused some of you. I was really after advise on how to run a campaign, not gain a number of players. I would like to thank all of you who would like to be tortured oops no that should be in a game run by me. As I prefer to run small groups (to try to retain some of my hair) and I already have four or five interested friends (and possibly a few others who I would prefer not hurt their feelings by saying you can't play), I cannot offer places as yet. However, I must say that I quite like the idea of running a game with people who I do not know! As yet I have to decide exactly what the content is going to be, and was really unsure of what the work load is likely to be... so I'll let people know after I have trialed it with some friends who I am unafraid of embarrassing myself in front off. (Right here comes some blasphemy) As with every thing a bit different I was considering running something I know as a trial, and I'm leaning towards running a Judge Dread (gasp) scenario which all my friends have died in before (when I was at University we used to have a sponsored 50 hour Roleplay, and this was what I'd run at 2am on the last day, and I'd get additional sponsorship for the number of player characters that could be killed in a humorous/spectacular fashion... the best event I managed around 30 deaths :-) So general comments would help as well as those really aligned to Runequest. I hope I have not offended people and I will talk to those people who have responded to me some time in the new year (probably not before March or April time). Still as I have said before any helpful comments will be gratefully accepted. John. *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.imagiconline.com with the line 'unsubscribe runequest-rules' as the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Nov 1999 14:17:14 -0500 From: "Jim Bickmeyer" Subject: [RQ-RULES] NPC Sorcerers Does anyone have a quick and easy way to come up with NPC Sorcerers from Sandy's Rules? The best I do is to roughly fudge them. I am using the RQIV previous Experience charts to quickly assign skill percents to NPC's, but the sorcerer skills are the original RQ3 rules. I can always go though the conversion process each time, but I wouldn't enjoy it much. If no one has done anything like that, maybe I will be able to. *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.imagiconline.com with the line 'unsubscribe runequest-rules' as the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Nov 1999 14:18:26 -0500 From: "Jim Bickmeyer" Subject: [RQ-RULES] Sandy's Mystic Rules I am using Sandy's Mystic rules in a non-Glorantha setting. The Mystic of the group will stay back and call up his Martial Arts styles then dive into the fray. The issue I have is once the styles are up and running, he is at peak fighting ability as long as he is concentrating on his styles. Thus if the fights are spaced out and he does not have to perform other actions all the styles are still up full. My question is; is anyone else using these Mystic rules and have you had any issues with them? Do you feel the mystic is too over-powered? The one style that gives me a fit is the Centipede. Once in the fight, the mystic becomes a chainsaw. According to Sandy's rules attacks can continue each strike rank until the mystic misses or chooses to do something else. Would that something else be moving to the next opponent, after slicing the current opponent into sushi, be considered something else? Or am I being too picky? *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.imagiconline.com with the line 'unsubscribe runequest-rules' as the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 Nov 1999 09:27:19 -0800 From: "DCFitch1" Subject: [RQ-RULES] RQ Group I live in Riverside/Sanbernardino County area of southern California and I am looking for a group in the general area who play RuneQuest face to face. I enjoy RQ online, but I also would love to play in person on a regular basis. I am currently in an AD&D group, but this just isn't as good as RQ! Thanks.
