Here's a few belated replies: Alain RAMEAU wrote: > This overriding will be very useful if you want your sheet to be > widely used, because almost everybody in this list has his.her own > rules, with slight changes in the calculation (for skills > modifiers, location HP,...) Wish I could take credit for this, but it seems to be a feature of Acrobat and/or Javascript. > No, it's interesting ! The advantages of Acrobat are that A) the reader is free, and B) it's available for almost any platform. Since it uses Javascript the calculations should work on any system, too, once they're set up right. Another advantage is that it doesn't require anyone to give Microsoft money. As far as I know the *form fields* in the document can be filled in by anyone with the reader program. The sheet itself cannot be changed without the full Acrobat program (expensive!), but the fields that I've inserted are open, with certain limitations (for example, the skill % fields are for numbers only). In version 4.0 there's a Touchup Text Tool that lets you edit and replace already-existing text (you can also delete text). It's not perfect -- it doesn't work well with underlining, for example -- but it functions. There's also a Form Tool that lets you create form fields anywhere on a PDF file, and gives you quite a few options in how the field will be filled in. FYI, here's the Javascript I'm using at the moment in the 1st weapon attack fumble field: var m = this.getField("Attack01"); event.value = 101 - ((100 - m.value)/20); It doesn't work right, though. Right now, the only value it will give me is 97%. Argh. At least the critical and special fields work. "Timothy Byrd" wrote: > I agree with Philip - I wouldn't use an electronic sheet during play. Okay then, good. That's what I figured, and it will make this a lot easier. It's very hard to work out a linear-tracking sheet that's totally electronic. I'd probably have to change it to a drop-down box for each hit location, and that would get very very complicated... WildECoyoteSD@aol.com wrote: > My vote would be for not being TOTALLY electronic but one that > would work printed out. At least this does that -- it's visually identical to the linear-tracking sheet that's already on my site. -->Pete - ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Peter Maranci pmaranci@tiac.net Malden, MA Pete's RuneQuest Page! Some are obviously taken from, say GoG, but others are not (conversions from AD&D, I think, at least in some cases). Is there anyway I could get a hold of your stats for, say, "Believe Lie", "Cloak of Illusion" or "Whispers" spells mentioned in the Baravar writeup? I couldn't find any on your website, but maybe I'm just confused...
