Lighthouse.

OK, as I understand it, Elmal was a "local" sun that shone from high places within the Heortling sphere of influence during the darkness. *The* Elmal was shining from Kero Fin (Storm Tribe p.46). It is not inconceivable (he says) that *an* Elmal-light would have shone from the Stormhold of the South, either then or else, as a constructed holy place, after Time began.

Now, let's add to the mix Tarkalor's recent war (last century) between the Yelmalion-Elmali of Sartar and the Kitori and trolls south of Sartar (cf. Dragon Pass:LoT p.11, "Amber Fields").

A sacred "Light House" in Whitewall could well have been of great mythic-strategic importance in that conflict -- Whitewall is, after all, hard up against the Kitori lands and the Troll Woods -- and this might add piquancy to those Sun Dome Templars fighting, on the Lunar side, to liberate *their* holy Light House from the grubby, impure barbarian occupiers...

Cheers, Nick
