I have always assumed that there is some of Boru in Broyan, but it is more his historical role than actual character and background.

In the same way that Kallyr is Sartar's Boudicca - the flame-haired woman who leads a rebellion against the occupiers - I always wonder if Broyan, High King of the Volsaxi is Heortland's Brian Boru, High King of Ireland.

Of course he should be as much Brian as Rikard Tigerhearted is Richard the Lionheart, but I always assumed there was a nod there, especially as he used to be spelt Brian. Some elements of the Brian story might serve as inspiration for our own High King.

'Weni, Widi, Wiki.' I came, I saw, I added to the story.
