My memory is that the canon texts say that the defenders "drive off" the Bat. Tha is my biggest objection. If the Bat were dead, surely KoS would have said that the defenders killed it.

Jeff, there is a function that allows you to delete the underlying text. That would probably be preferable. For those of use receiving the digest version, it is pretty confusing when the original message is fully quoted.
