I love the whoompage too!
Surprisingly agile!? Yep, I'd go for that too. Surprising that it's agile! A good descriptive piece should do the trick.

Only Keith has made the attempt with his excellent comedy!

"Here's a question - how do the Bat Guards hang on? For that matter, how do the Priests hang on?"

And, hanging on to giant bat hairs!!! Hehehe, you're killing me! Maybe the giant bat hairs hold on to the priests! Or maybe, even, they're the kind that are short and curly!!

Maybe they have a crystal hemisphere lashed on with a giant harness; then the priests can bash their brains out on the windscreen when the bat does a 180! :))))

Oliver's slow motion flapping: sort of like the oncoming train? Seems slow until you're jam? (US translation: jelly) All that build up, plenty of time to appreciate your awful fate and then the tidal wave hits. I was going to say suspense but that kind of implies hope.

Keith's Star Trek parody - love it!! I'm going to have to breath for a while here!

The Scooby Doo parody - equally excellent

But nobody willing to try for the serious descriptive prose?
