It doesn't seem to remove the Chaos taint, although it might be seen as "healing" it in some other respect. I would say that Illumination heals the conflict between Chaos and Cosmos embodied within a Chaotic. (I'm not sure what it does for "PreDark" Chaos - but then I've never heard of an Illuminated Gorp :-)
