You're absolutely right that something's going on here, and it's a big subject. That's probably why nobody's replied yet - where to start?

Excuse me if I answer your questions in reverse order.

You're quite right, the myths of the goddess are fundamentally solar pantheon myths. She is a heavenly body and her magic is solar in nature. It is cyclical; it radiates down from above; the glowline forms a dome over her earthly dominion; she dies, is cast into the underworld and is reborn. She stands for harmonious order, just as Yelm does. However, she goes further than that.

Now to your questions about the Lunar relationship to the otherworlds. Bear in mind that the Lunars have their own otherworld, and that they even have their own versions of the elements - The Young Elements. The Lunar way is not just about 'discovering yourself', but re-creating yourself, and by extension it is about re-creating the world. As a universal religion of renewal, it extends to all the otherworlds but as yet (in the third age) the project is not complete.

>From a practical standpoint, yes they can use their magic to work with
the 'other' otherworlds. That can be a temptation for Lunars though, as with Nyasalorians they can easily become distracted from their focus on unity and ballance, perhaps leading to occlusion.
