Actually, that is kind of an issue for me. I've seen characters that have worked well that fit those sorts of description (although neither one exactly!) and I'd be loathe to penalise them for it. Now, if you want to be a Devotee of Humakt, being a cheery soul probably isn't going to cut the mustard, but devotees are extremists, and I wouldn't to extend those sorts of negative modifiers to regular initiates, let alone lay members who happen to have the runes. YGWV, of course, and it's an easy enough rule to ignore, anyway, if one is so inclined.
