I really loved reading about your scenario. I wouldn't worry about your representation of the spirit world, when you come to read any published material on it. It's easy enough to say that the Escaping With Cattle magic follows a Narrow Straight Path discovered or made by the ones who taught the magic. I'm sure everyone here knows of the Narrow Straight Path From Which It Is Dangerous To Stray. :P
