I think they would consider maturation to be a natural part of the process of creation.

It would be logical for the Brithini to treasure their children, in their own way, because of birth restrictions and the children's vulnerability. I think they would take great care to correctly instruct and nurture their new neighbors. It might be something like the Vulcan academy in the most recent Star Trek movie.
