And the new Heroforming and Identity Challenge rules in the new Sartar book really help bring this to life. As a devotee performing a feat, you ARE the god out of the myth. You MUST act as your god did in the myth or else weaken your magic. This can be a great roleplaying opportunity when the myth would require the player to do something against his interest or even counterproductive.
