Oh, I definitely agree with your broader point. After all, the $40.00+ for the core 1978 rulebook is still more than the $30.00 for the current core rulebook, and they are about the same size. But I'm a little suspicious of the $26.00 price tag. I got the $11.99 price from John M. Ford's article "On Playing Roles: a Second Look" that was in the September 1980 issue of Asimoz's SF Magazine.
