/// OK. So when you Free your spirit, it can act independantly but gets a -6 to its rating. That seems tough. We'll have to experiment with this a bit. So a shaman doing this can get his "free" spirit operating at full rating then. OK, that makes becoming a shaman a worthy goal.

Sorry, I wasn't clear that was quoting from the section about when you have a mastery in spirit magic tradition.

As a spirit worshiper, you can only augment with your spirits.

As a member of a spirit tradition, your spirits are as a stretch and when you release them as normal abilities.

When you are a shaman, all your spirits are used as normal abilities, no stretch penalty and when you release them you get a +9.
