The God Learners conquered Arolanit although most of the population escaped through unknown means. When they were destroyed, the escaped population returned.

There's a difference between the Esvulari and the God Forgotten. And material up at glorantha.com has had the Aeolians being Malkioni settlers in the Storm Age rather than Orlanthi converts.
