I don't mean what happens to the convert, but what happens to the severed part - the former Orlanth breath, for instance.

Or even less foreign, assume a series of changes Orlanth Helamakt - Heler Helamakt - Heler Uroth. There is no Orlanth equivalent for Uroth, so whatever Orlanth soul this individual may have had is orphaned. Will such an orphaned soul return to the deity or linger about?

Is there a difference between friendly separations (like the in-cult switches) and unfriendly ones (forceful severance of the cult, apostasy) which may or may not lead to orphaned souls?

Or are the agents of reprisal actually manifestations of the orphaned or to-be-orphaned soul?
