I agree with Zack, this is a pretty hardcore book. While it can enrich a campaign, it's not going to be as useful unless you or your players are serious Gloranthaphiles.

I don't know what's available to you, but I suspect Sartar Companion would be the best book to read alongside Sartar. It's full of encounters and scenarios. And out of print stuff like Barbarian Adventures has stuff useful for any Orlanthi campaign.
