And in the Companion and Pavis both spellings were present.

Earlier drafts of the Guide included multiple instances of both versions... In all cases, in such large documents, with a long lineage from earlier material inconsistencies are inevitable, especially when some inconsistencies are intentional. No author, and no proofreader is going to catch all the unintentional bugs.
