Fishing, 4 providers.

I think we should make the fishing as good as fits into the write up. Certainly there is apt to be some fishing of the river, but whether it is enough to have a full time Poverri initiate or not I don't know.

In the real world, the fishing was decent I guess. Certainly all summer there would be people fishing off the rocks at the bottom of the rapids across the way. (I also recall taking the row boat out on the river above the rapids with a distant cousin when I was about ten years old, and use pretty basic equipment catching a good sized pike after not too long. Of course, then we realized that we didn't have a net or anything to kill the stupid fish with. I think its own flopping around eventually knocked it senseless more than our attempts to bludgeon it with the heel of one of my sneakers.)

More generally, this is Glorantha, where everything is bigger, brighter (or darker) than earth. So I'd think either the river should be rich in fish, or else there is some very good reason why it isn't.

Hmmm, thinking further, there is the opportunity here to show all four providers. There is lots of wet fields that can't be plowed, but which make for good grazing and additional hay for dark season, plus there can be grazing up on the hills, so they should be able to support decent sized herds (although since it is not an especially wealthy stead, a higher proportion of sheep to cows than in some places). There is also fields, so you will have farmers. There is abundant forests, so you have hunters. And with the river there can easily be a fisher or two.

Many steads won't have all four providers, but for a first generic stead, it actually makes some sense to show all four.
