I don't know if any of this is of interest, but i've recently been reading a book on British folk tales and it listed the uses of some trees. For instance, the Alder was thought to be protected by water fairies, and Green Dye obtained was from its leaves. Would you like me to compile a complete list of the traditional uses and beliefs surrounding the more common british trees and post it the group.
