Shutting down the group

Bryan asks whether we should shut the group down.

One problem is: what happens to the archive of messages? It may be useful as a source of ideas in the future. Perhaps we can just kill off the ability to send new messages (etc.) and allow public access to everything? It would be nice if we were able to take an archive of the entire group and post it in the files section of one of the more enduring groups.
