Dave writes:

"The second is that while Basmol is said to be slain, and Tada wearing his skin does tend to agree with this, the Basmoli do not seem to suffer much from this, as do other religions of wounded or dead gods. This is suspicious - either little of their magic actually comes from Basmol, or maybe Basmol is still alive and this is a cult secret. Maybe there is a story of the Resurrection of Basmol???"

Indeed -- maybe Basmol ISN'T dead, but Tada did skin him nonetheless. Such a fate might be even more humiliating than death -- to be skinned alive and LEFT alive by Tada. This truth may have died with Tada -- with all except the Basmoli, who ferociously guard this fact as a profound cult secret. If this is the case, then surely the greatest purpose of the Basmoli must be to recover Basmol's skin, so that he may show himself again! Indeed, until he is able to do this, even the Basmoli regard him as mythically 'dead', so even they can say this with a degree of truthfulness. The recovery of the skin would be Basmol's resurrection.
