Hmm, that means that the official Kralorelan history (that 5 million generation stuff) has been manipulated so that Aether and Yelm have been inserted as emperor 1 and 2 by the GLs?

I would rather think that the FDR might have revived really ancient solar practices of eastern origin, i.e. the kind used by the early emperors before Daruda brought his draconic revelations. Like this: the GLs come to Kralorela and find a rich and ancient land. They realize that their western sorcery-based method is not sufficient to harness the powers of the land so they start delving into the old myths by going on various heroquests. There they find that before the draconic rulers Kralorela was part of the God-time empire of the sun god (whatever his name). So they weaken the draconic powers by turning them into self-serving nonsense like the Path of Immanent Mastery (except for the juiciest parts which they spare for themselves).

For the ignorant masses they rekindled the cults of Yang Ti and the other sky gods as the primary means of worship, but set up everything so that they could tap into the flow of MPs sacrificed to the gods. All in all a rather nice power-mongering scheme, right?

Krala and Rice Mother:

I have a new idea. Krala might be the original land goddess of those parts. Then the Kralori came as invaders from Vithela. Unlike the Teshnans who enslaved the aboriginal people and lost touch with Teshna, they assimilated the original inhabitants and took Krala into their pantheon, but kept Rice Mother as their primary agricultural deity. They kicked Krala up sideways to a position as the 'Most Ancient and Revered Grandmother of all Lands of the Empire of Splendour, Keeper of the Secrets of hte Land' or some other title, which sounds great but entails no real power.

After all, the Kralorelans are good at assimilating all kinds of ideas and incorporating them in the official system. What better way then than letting them get lost in the divine bureaucracy.

PS All this is of course IMO and pure speculation as always.
