++++ STOP PRESS ++++ STOP PRESS ++++ STOP PRESS ++++         Reports just at hand indicate that the Lion King of Glorantha was shot and killed while travelling in a cavalcade through the city of Pavis. Investigators have arrested a suspect known as Tada, who fired from a nearby High Tumulus. Unfortunately, the details surrounding the killing must remain forever confusing, as Tada was himself killed, by one Jack Ragnaglar.

However, many God Learner theorists claim that Tada is not the real assassin. Witnesses claim that another armed man (tentatively identified as one Waha, with known links to nomad organisations) fired on the Lion King from a nearby grassy knoll (known as Waha's Short Tumulus). Basmol was known to have have angered many within the animal nomad community ( by eating them).

God Learner theorists also identify a man in the crowd,
suspiciously carrying an umbrella on a sunny day, as the notorious murderer Humakt. There are also allegations that the mysterious Serpent Kings organisation wanted Basmol dead, and that the infamous underworld figure Mallia had been been in an altercation with Basmol prior to the assassination.

While Basmoli officials continue to claim that the killing was the
result of Tada working alone, God Learner theorists have poured scorn on the 'magic arrow theory', claiming that Basmols death was obviously the result of many separate attackers, and that his wounds (some reports indicate skinning) are incompatible with the Basmoli commissions report.

Basmol is survived by his wife Basmola (who was with him in the cavalcade) and his brother Durbaddath.
