Perhaps the difference between Krala, Rice Mother, and Den Xi as far
as rice goes is that Krala bestows extra-fancy long-grain rice, Rice
Mother bestows short-grain rice, also known as sticky rice, and Den Xi
bestows medium-grain rice, or some variant thereof. One's choice of
patron goddess would then dictate which sort of rice one consumed.
Who is the patron of rice noodles? Rice Krispies?
