Your Rune Lady might have been disappointed when she was forced to become a priest, but image how my Lankhor Mhy (mispelt for ritual reasons) Sword Sage and Priestess was demoted to an initiate! Actually since she was already an associate Trader Priestess (Acolyte to RQ3ers) this ment that her MAIN cult changed from Lhankor Mhy to Issaries!!! This is very unsettling since under RQ2 she had DIed to LM to avoid the detrimental effects of aging (because she is very vain and at the time there were no aging rules and I couldn't be bothered to work any out) (NB this DI does not extend her lifespan, it just means that she looks and feels about thirty up until she keels over at around seventy). I guess RQ3 GMs would be less happy about granting this one, but under RQ2 it was a basically harmless way of avoiding worrying about aging.
Anyway, so there she is being really devoted to LM when he suddenly turns his back on her. But along comes Issaries and makes her an offer she can't refuse. She is now also an Acolyte of Orthanth and Initiate of Pavis (the town of her birth). The best thing about this combination is spell trading for EXTENSION then using that with (1-use or spell traded) Shield!
Anyway after playing this character for years I now know why LM and Issaries were the two most popular God Learner cults...
