Regarding trade

IMO (long distance) trade was spawned very early in the development of human civilisation by the need of salt and copper, which are very unevenly distributed in this world, but either essential for living or necessary for "cultural" improvement. Apart from short distance distribution of, e. g., pottery/clay. So, even for the rural orlanthi, trade is known and, to a varying degree, essential.
