Hmm, it strikes me that many of the clinical problems described in such loving detail in recent posts can be solved by judicious use of that old Orlanthi standby the Teleportation spell. Otherwise known as the knifeless Caesarean.

On the topic of fates after death, have a look at the description of the fate of the soul in KING OF SARTAR. The soul after seven days joins a great flow of souls moving down towards Daka Fal's court for judgement and assignment to the Afterlife. I once had occasion to ask Greg what would happen to a soul that refused to join the flow. (Perverse players I've got.) His opinion was that

  1. It wouldn't happen. There's a huge compulsion to join. But that
  2. If it did happen the soul would drift off on the Spirit Plane, defenceless and friendless, gradually loosing cohesion until it got destroyed by something bigger than itself or captured by a Shaman. (Which is why it is so important to get yourself a good reliable deity!)
