Mike Cule about Mostali reproduction and healing:

What does the Man Rune say, anyway? Among the troll genealogy, it seems to express sapience. Owner of the Man Rune (according to GL dogma) is Grandfather Mortal. Not all of his descendants are mortal, all who aren't have to sidestep mortality by strict adherence to certain laws - not to drink water for the Agimori ancestors, to give up free will among the Brithini Horals, Zzaburs and Dronals, to give up action among the Brithini Talars, to [censored] for the Vadeli. The Mostali are similar in this restriction (too similar to the Brithini for them to be the ideal pre-revelation Malkioni, MGF-wise).

Actually I think that a repair spell would be culturally more appropriate. A sorcerous "Form/Set <substance>" as per RQ3...

Tools, or magic constructs. Nothing wrong with that, though - the Dara Happan major deities (Yelm, Lodril, Dayzatar) have a similar origin, and created or even sired mankind.

Gold dwarfs might deny that dwarves are alive in the Growing sense. They'd group the Clay Mostali with the Jolanti, Nilmergs and other dwarf artifacts. IMO Gargoyles would register as more alive than dwarfs, if "detect life" was cast upon either.
