Modest Hippos

Hippopotami are very appropriate Dara Happan animals, because they are so very modest. The penis of the male hippopotamus points backwards. This of course means that these demure animals mate facing away from each other.

That is the kind of stuff you find in mediaeval bestiaries, which delighted in assigning human virtues and vices to animals. They got away with this because none of their readers were likely to see a hippo. If the Dara Happans have hippos around, they'll not believe this. Not unless it's true, that is. Just because real hippo penises turn forward during mating, Gloranthan ones need not do the same. Maybe Peloria has one kind of hippo, Laskal or Onlaks another.
