Alison here:

MOB is quite right about the flagrant steal from the Flashman series. (Incidentally, there is a new hardcover out - Flashy's about to get mixed up with John Brown at Harper's Ferry.) My grammar was somewhat confused. I meant that the freeing of Hrothmir and Damita's personal life were Ian's ingenious inventions.

You're right about the difficulty of adapting some of these off-the-cuff adventures into publishable format. I think that the Hrothmir one is doable, but it would need the right kind of party. We had a Storm Bull with us who was keen to become the first of the revived cult. Hrothmir became a very specialised god devoted to revenge only. Ian ruled that he had a particular divine spell, Pursue, and could sense Chaos like his dad. We were allowed to sacrifice POW for either of these just after rescuing the skull, both of which my character went for. A Lunar that can sense chaos is apparently a very rare combination!

As for #220, I'm afraid that Nick does me too much credit. That was Ian's post that mentions the God Forgot atheists. However, we found it an interesting experience to go there. Of course, one of the first things that we had to do was to completely corrupt one of the local soldier's worldviews, so that he would be too afraid of religious examination to mention some of the things that we were doing. He ended up leaving with us, and had a short and very confused life in Prax as our exiled (officially dead) noble's servant. He denied the existence of gods to the very end, too.

BTW, I probably won't be back on until April. I'm off to Holland this Friday. Amsterdam and Den Haag, oboy! One week only, sigh!
