While I do like and love many North Americans I am usually US-A-phobe (:-) with respect to society, politics etc. I can't let Sandy get away with that one I'm afraid (apologies to the list, but he started it ;-)

Ownership is of course objective. Like the USA, the Lunars want to convert (democratise) the heathens (Nicaragua, Granada, East Timor, rest-of-earth...). I think they do it in all sort of ways depending on the local resistance and level of civilisation of the barbarians. Often they use lunars (greenbacks). Force more civilised people to start using your currency, which you have the controls over to print, and you've started the (economic) invasion of the society - the heralds (radio/TV) are a minor but necessary start to a physical invasion. Use of lunars, under good cover of making trade easier, is less bloody, sometimes longer, but much more successful in the long run.

The other major weapon is trade itself (while the lunar [greenback] is eastblishing itself). Telmori rights (human rights - China, Timor, etc. etc. etc. etc. in US foriegn policy) quickly take a back seat when being pushed with lucrative trade deals. Dumping of luxury lunar goods, as well as common but unheard of staples (grains from northern Peloria into the Holy Country).

The list goes on. There's often a lot of work to do before the physical invasion ever starts. Often it's never needed. While the British were definitely colonisers, the lunars (USA) also use all of these methods. There's more going on than physical colonisation. While the Lunars are set up on a military as well as theological structure, which would suggest that force reigns, I suggest that for many years before the invasion into Sartar (much less so into Prax though) the Lunars were extending their "territories". A study of the Tarsh given below provides a detailed example.

[Note: Remainder of document accidently shredded while in transit between temples. Evidence suggests that the original 2106 cubit scroll was cut to the current 3 cubits.]

May Nysalor and Eurmal lighe and guide your way.
