Composite bows

Regarding the use of composite bows, I remember reading somewhere that the Turkish and Mongol bows of the medieval period were highly susceptible to moisture due to the protein based glues used to bond the layers of wood, horn and sinew together. This would make them of dubious value outside of arid climates as they would deteriorate rapidly
