IMO, in general, with allowances for nationalist weenies, unless a carmanian
uses a relic broadsword that has been around since the lunar conquest 400
years ago he/she would use a scimitar.
More general note, 400 years is more than enough time to pretty thoroughly
educate (brainwash) the carmanians in the lunar way.
