Trapped Talor. Harmast meets up with Talor and gets his bearings straight. Talor recieves some help from Harmast (like healing). Now Harmast wants to continue the LBQ.... He can see Talor is on his way out whereas Harmast might end up in Deeper Shit. So he gives Talor the Keys so that something useful can be done with them. Talor thus seeing a way out of Hell comes up...

Talor's escape from Hell with the Keys of Kartolin here sounds remarkably like Eurmal's escape from Hell with fire. If Talor did indeed follow the Eurmali path instead of the Yelm path out of Hell, then that might explain why the quest was less successful.

on LBQ/7M associations Generally, when I look at the parallels I try not so much to match up the characters as the roles or archetypes and then see how they fit. In this way, I would look at the following:

You could divide the roles differently though and come up with differing parallels. Other roles taken on include: Communicator, Warrior, Bargainer, Keeper of Secrets.

What also makes it hard to follow this thread too far is to look at the central hero of the story. In the Orlanthi LBQ, the hero is Orlanth. All others are bit players and helpers. But with the 7M, the hero is the Red Goddess and the mothers are the bit players and helpers. And you really can't leave the hero out of the cast. So if you are drawing parallels, you should include the Red Goddess and, from the LBQ side, perhaps Yelm.
