Trolls, silent child raising

In answer to Pam's question, where would a troll think while a human would not, an obvious example would be "should I eat this deformed member of my species?"
The version of silent child raising that I read was that the children were raised by deaf-mutes. The result: they ended up using sign language! Jim Chapin
