Darksence Obviously is useless for percieving normal human script, and according to Trollpack, Darktrolls are very Farsighted -- unable to properly focus on anything closer than ten or fifteen feet.
Thus, any troll desiring to decipher Human Writing must rely on trollkin or human interpreters. How embarrasing!
Of Course, if asked, any good troll will say they can read fine -- parchment just tastes so good, they can't be bothered. . .
